​Being bombarded with contradictory news about Syria by the corporate media, we are told the US and NATO are supporting the "freedom fighters" against the evil tyrannic Assad regime, while at the same time we get the news the biggest and strongest forces fighting the "tyrant" are.... AL-QAIDA!!!??

Never mind these forces are composed mostly by Saudis and not Syrians, therefore foreigners in Syria killing innocent Syrian civilians among others, but the profound irony lost in these bizarre news is that while the Bush-Obama regime is using fear for Al-Qaida to take away our freedoms, passing laws like the Patriot Act and NDAA, at the same time they are portraying Al-Qaida as the force fighting for democracy and freedom in Syria!!

The Syrian Girl explains rather accurately the way I see the Syrian conflict by reluctantly supporting Assad as the clear lesser evil, especially after seeing the outcomes in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya being led by fanatical religious governments (Egypt's army has toppled it, but future uncertain) and realizing it has been all the secular regimes who have been under attack by the US-Israel-NATO gargantuan.
