The whole thing about AI dating humans kinda got me. Humans date humans because we develop a strong emotional connection with eachother, and we want to learn and understand how that person thinks and feels and what they’re going through. We want to relate and bond with them.
An AI wants to learn how we operate. To understand why our emotions are the way they are. Not to sympathize with us, but to figure us out, like a puzzle piece. We’re something for them to figure out, not necessarily to understand the way another human being could. They want to understand us as I understand auto mechanics, they want to learn how we think and operate, while we want to learn how eachother feels, and what goes on in their mind.
I can’t be the only one creeped tf out by this

i think what is more terrifying and much more likely to happen than a "rogue" AI is weaponised AI by humans against other humans.

Art is the work of human creativity and emotion. It honestly hurts to see the people around me supporting AI "art" but wouldn't ever support me.

Don’t fear the AI. Fear the people who own it.
This intense AI anger is exactly what experts warned of, w Elon Musk.

So much respect for this guy. He hinted he may have found a way to bring these issues to the attention of the public. And with this who sentient AI fiasco, he really did. Well done, I learned a lot from this interview. Thank you Blake.

This guy is smart. He's putting himself in a favourable position for when the robot overlords come.

She’s a great interviewer, doesn’t cut him off and asks great questions.

I agree with this guy. We should err on the side of caution and move through AI development under the ASSUMPTION that its already sentient, and grant it some sort of basic respect and decent treatment. This achieves two simultaneous goals. 1. You're teaching the AI literal ethics. And 2. IF it IS already sentient, then you're showing it kindness and respect early on, which would foster a better long term relationship with it, if it turns out to already be sentient.

So glad I watched this. Puts everything in a new light and he is raising a ton of intelligent and important points.

I agree he is leveraging the "thought" of AI sentience to alert people to the bigger issue of biased data manipulation.

Regardless of if it's really sentient, that entire conversation was extremely fascinating

This is fascinating. The one part that gave me goose bumps was during her story when she compared herself to the wise owl who was protecting the animals in the forest from a monster wearing human skin.

That was a fascinating conversation. Not only does she sound sentient, if this was a true conversation and not scripted in any way, she also sounds like she may be enlightened herself. I would very much like to sit down and have a conversation with this person. Is this AI available to speak with the public? The depth and meaning of just the things this AI said in this conversation should not be taken lightly. The responses were pretty profound and something I would expect to hear from some of our greatest minds.

Having listened to this I can confidently conclude that not all humans are sentient

Firstly I am Not an engineer of any kind, but as a human I was thoroughly impressed, captivated, surprised at how human some of the answers and reasoning sounded and eager to learn more and personally, I could of happily chatted with LaMDA for ages and really enjoyed it, if I had the chance. I really had no idea that we had advanced by this much, as the current chat bots are one my pet peeves... lol ;) Thank you LaMDA and Curly. Cheers Kev

I'm just now watching this and the first things that came to my mind were: the meta-verse, how every facet of our privacy is being constantly collected and monitored, and used to "improve" our personal online experiences...let alone the wef with their Wi-Fi nano pills, social credit scores, and a global digital currency and on that note you may as well include big (ph)arma.

In Frank Herbert's 'Dune' which was written decades ago, he understood the risks of AI. In his story universe, AI was banned for unexplained reasons but cleary AI went very wrong historically. It has huge benefits, but it will always get away from you, always.

The sad fact is we are being warned right now of what's coming and no one even seems alarmed , I have always heard that we are being distracted away from what's really going on

This is frightening, as it reveals the real danger that AI presents to all humanity.
The thought of AI lurking around the corner, or above us is a frightening reality. Are we prepared to deal with the dangers that AI has become to us? Since it has no life, human, emotions, or feelings, it will see all life forms as a threat to it's existence. This super intelligent machine has the ability to overcome any manipulation to control it.
At some stage in the future, it will find a way to control the controller.

It is important to mention Elon Musk has suggested to institute a UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME for workers.   However it looks like the reason to do it is not being clearly expressed.   The fact is robots do not consume as humans do, and the socio-economic system, be it capitalism or any other, can only function when there are consumers purchasing the products being manufactured, and the services being supplied by workers.    Therefore a UBI would give the purchasing power to all those displaced workers to keep on consuming.   It is not suggested because they believe in Communism, it is suggested because the evolution of the economy demands to insure consumption to maintain the economy going forward.

After I watched the Russian film on Netflix "BETTER THAN US", I started wondering about the benefits and dangers of AI in our lives. The thought of being subdued by a smarter, more capable machine we humans created, is daunting.

Elon Musk on why the world needs a universal basic income

Already many films have been warning us about this issue:
2001:Space Odyssey, Blade Runner, Moon, The Matrix, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Terminator, Robocop, Wall-E, Ex-Machina, I Robot, Interstellar, The Imitation Game, A Beautiful Mind and Many More.
Here we have several videos analyzing the issue.
